Morrisville/West Cary Core Update

As you know, Hope Community and Northwest Community have decided not to merge together to launch Hope-Northwest at Panther Creek. Obviously, we are all disappointed that this didn’t work out including Mike, Dave, and the elders. They understand that we probably feel as if we’ve been on a rollercoaster ride. It would be nice at times if the process of seeking to know and do God’s will was always controllable, but the reality is that it is not because fortunately He is God and we are not.

Please know that we wish our friends at Northwest Community all the best. We love them and are blessed to serve beside them in God’s kingdom. You should also know that Gary Vet is staying on Hope’s staff as our Pastor of Spiritual Formation. Gary, Martha and their boys are great assets to Hope! So what’s next?

Pastor Mike asked me to reassure you that while the launch plans are off for now there is still hope that our campus is coming. Please hang in here.  We will be the next campus to launch! Right now Hope is confronting two realities that affect our launch date. One is the need to assure the continued success of Hope-Holly Springs and the other is the need to collect the funds needed to launch our second campus.

Since there is no launch date currently, everyone is encouraged to re-engage at the Raleigh campus. Hope-Holly Springs is off to a great start, but has left several holes at the Raleigh campus. If you’re not already involved, be encouraged to quickly join one of the volunteer teams. We’ve learned a lot from launching Hope-Holly Springs. One thing is to hire staff or place volunteer leaders from within using our seasoned volunteers. Which means that if you have any desire to be on staff or lead one of our volunteer teams the best thing you can do is get involved as a volunteer leader now.

OK, so here is your opportunity to talk to me. How are you feeling? Do you have any questions? Is there any way I can serve you and your family? Feel free to email, call, or setup an appointment with me. I’d love to hear from you.

I appreciate you and your commitment to Christ, His Kingdom, and Hope Community Church.

How to Get Involved by Leslee Siirila

Thank you for going to the Northwest Cary Campus! I am the Administrative Assistant for Volunteer Ministries at Hope Community Church, and I would love to help you get connected with the right ministry for you to serve in…whether that is KidCity, First Impressions, Student Ministries, or the Tech Team!

We can not have a successful launch like Holly Springs Campus did last Sunday until we have more volunteers ready to serve! There are great needs in both KidCity and in the First Impressions Ministry, and we both have orientations coming up the first weekend in October!

Here is the main contact information for the following ministries!

1. First Impressions- is the ministry Mary Ann Sibley and I coordinate- contact me at maryanns@gethope.net. Did you know we need 55 volunteers each weekend to run the multi-site smoothly? So far we have 12.  We are the Greeters, Guides, Ushers, Roadies, Gathering Place, Common Grounds, Security, Medical team, and shuttle drivers. We are offering an information session on October 3rd at 5:30 until 7:00p.m. This is where you can learn more about First Impressions. All of our volunteers are required to attend an orientation before serving (preferably).

2. KidCity- Contact Laura Lee, the Children Ministries Director, for more information and orientation times at laural@gethope.net. This ministry is Nursery through Fifth grade. There are many different roles you can take: large group leader, small group leader, nursery care taker, registration desk, and many more! For more information, visit:

3. Student Ministries- Contact Shelly White at shellyw@gethope.net to learn how you can get involved in Middle School and High School Ministries. They are looking for small group leaders, check-in people, and more on the Weekends. Instead of an orientation, they have personal interviews and applications.

4. Technology and Video- Contact Mark Hanna at markh@gethope.net to learn about the video control room or running cameras on stage! He will give you more information about how to get started. This ministry is loosing a lot of their team members to Holly Springs, so if this is something that interests you- they will love to train you!

I hope this helps you! I will be happy to answer more questions if you let me know what ministry you would like to get involved in. Also, please let me know if I can register you for the First Impressions Information Session on October 3rd. We would love to see you there!
