From Andrew Lukonis (core #43)

“I am excited about the new Morrisville campus because I have a pioneer spirit and love to be a part of something small and watching it grow!  I live in the Brier Creek area and would definitely enjoy a nearby church with the same DNA as the Cary Hope campus.  This is going to be exciting and I’m glad to be a part of it!”
- Andrew Lukonis (#43)

What a joy it is to be on God’s playing field and to watch Him work. I’m glad to be on the same team with Andrew and each of you. This is not the time to be sitting up in the bleachers. The real excitement is down on the field. Long before now God has been at work in Morrisville, West Cary, Brier Creek, North Raleigh, Southpoint, and beyond. Now He is inviting us to join Him in His work.

Assembling a core and launching a new campus is a work only God can do. And, He is doing it! The reality is we can’t do it without Him and He chooses not to do it without us. Being called to the Morrisville core is no small calling. It is the invitation of a lifetime to run out on the field, team-up, and experience the living God of the universe as He works in and through us. Wow! What an incredible opportunity.

Your excitement excites me. Keep the stories coming! What excites you about the new Morrisville campus?

Infusing Hope

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

In launching the new Morrisville campus we are taking all God is doing in and through Hope Community Church and infusing it to Morrisville and the surrounding areas. This exciting undertaking involves infusing or imparting the special “DNA” of Hope to the Morrisville community. The Hope DNA is what sets Hope a part. It is what makes Hope special. It is the “secret ingredients and spices” of our originality. It is the presence of God displayed in what we call Hope Community Church.

What is on my heart today is the reality that any plan of infusing Hope and the God-given DNA of Hope MUST start with God infusing the people of Hope. First and foremost, we need for God to call people who are currently attending the Raleigh campus to transfer to the Morrisville campus. This is a significant work that only God can do. The very God who brought us to the Raleigh campus must now release us and call us to follow Him to Morrisville campus.

Praise God with me that He has already begun that good work and He will complete it. The current 130+ adult core members represent God’s awesome work to transfer attendees from the Raleigh campus to the Morrisville campus. These have not been light decisions. They have come with earnest prayer and discernment. Hundreds of people are still praying. God is literally adding to our number daily. The assignment to go to Morrisville is a real calling. Each core member is a true gift from God.

Our only hope of infusing Hope to Morrisville is for God to transfer current attendees. Hope’s DNA is in the people! It is not in the building or the resources. Infusing Hope to Morrisville means infusing the people of Hope to the new Morrisville campus. The greatest thing we can do is to pray as God does this work and then join Him by encouraging other people of Hope to join us. Trust God this week to show you 2 people at Hope who need your encouragement to join the Morrisville core. God is at work!

Pray!

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

The first commitment of the Morrisville core is to pray. Let me share 7 things you can be praying about right now:

  1. Pray for Pastor Mike as he leads the staff and church family. There is a lot going on at Hope right now with multi-sites expansion, the Easter season coming up, and more so please pray that God gives and renews his strength.
  2. We meet face-to-face with Duke Management (landlord of 5151 McCrimmon Parkway) this Thursday at 3pm to hopefully address the outstanding issues regarding the lease. Please pray for God to reveal Himself and His plan in the midst of this meeting.
  3. Pray for God to use each core member to recruit 2 additional adults into the core between now and June 1.
  4. Pray for God to raise up the staff for the new Morrisville campus.
  5. Pray for all core members to be volunteering now and active in a small group in preparation for our upcoming launch.
  6. Pray for the architect as we design the layout of the new campus. We need God’s wisdom to know how to best use the space.
  7. Pray for me that I would be still and know that He is God in the midst of the exciting busyness.

When we work – we work. When we pray – God works. I look forward to our first prayer time in our new building. Keep watching for more details. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait until then to pray. Ready now? Let us pray…
