Multi-site Launch Dates

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

As Pastor Mike announced at the services this past weekend, the elders have decided to spread out the launch dates of the two new campuses. Holly Springs will launch first on September 27, 2009 and the Morrisville campus will launch sometime after the first of the year. It is currently targeted for February 7, 2010, but stay tuned for more information.

What does this mean for the Morrisville campus. It means we need to celebrate the launch of the Holly Springs campus. This is a great move of God to reach many families in the Holly Springs community. While we are still the Morrisville core, we are first and foremost a part of Hope Community Church and therefore we celebrate what God is doing in Holly Springs.

We need to step up and get plugged in at the Raleigh campus.  All our research shows that it will be very taxing on the Raleigh campus to just launch one campus at a time. The Holly Springs core of over 500 adults and children will leave many holes in the Raleigh campus. Let’s all jump in and fill these holes while we’re waiting to launch.

We need to trust God and be patient. His timing IS ALWAYS perfect! God is good all the time and all the time God is good. He absolutely can be trusted. Rest assured that He who began a good work in us WILL complete it. The elders have said that it is not a question of “if” but “when”. God has the Morrisville core of over 350 people on the radar for a reason. Hang in there!

God continues to add people to the core. We will continue to meet for prayer Wednesdays at 7. We will continue to host core meetings. Our launch will be here before you know it. Keep praying!

Let me know if you have questions.

Roger Dodson Memorial

Monday, June 29th, 2009

As Pastor Mike announced at the weekend services, Roger Dodson tragically died on Saturday. Roger had served on Hope’s elder board for over 10 years. He recently joined staff full-time serving in the area of finance. His wife Debbie serves on Hope’s staff in the areas of communication and drama. Their sons, Jordon, Dylan, and Logan have all grown up around Hope. Roger will be greatly missed.

Please rest assured that Mike and the staff are taking good care of Debbie, the boys, and their family and friends. The response has been so overwhelming that Pastor Mike has asked the church family to please give the Dodson’s some space and time to heal as they will need every one’s support over the next year and beyond.

A college fund has been set up for the boys. The family has asked that memorial gifts be made to the college fund in lieu of flowers. Until further notice, gifts can be made to Hope Community Church and marked for the Dodson college fund.

A memorial service is planned for 7pm Tuesday, June 30th at Hope Community Church. Everyone is encouraged to gather together to celebrate Roger’s life and ministry.

Please keep the Dodson’s and the Hope staff in your prayers.

Feel The Love!

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Last week at our Wednesdays @ 7 prayer gathering I was given a card and Reese’s 4 pack from the Mville Core! The card was signed by several people from the core. As you know, Reese’s is one of my favorite candies. Wow! Thank you!

This is just one example of the ways in which the Mville core are loving up on me and Shelly. We have been so blessed to visit several small groups, have dinner with multiple couples and families, and put a name and story with so many difference faces. Recently, Bonnie Woody prepared a fabulous meal for us (while Kevin Woody watched). Laurie Preston keeps me (and the entire Hope staff) stocked with Peanut M&Ms. Every week dozens of you wave, smile, throw high fives and share hugs at the HWYA booth. I could go on and on. I truly feel the love!

Your love for me and each other really excite me. Every week at Wednesdays @ 7 someone has a personal prayer request that grips all our hearts. I’m blessed as I witness everyone praying with such genuine care, concern, and love for one another.

In 1 John 3:18, we read, “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.”

Thank you for putting your love into action. Let’s keep feeling the love!
